The walls of salvation certainly surround those in Christ! And for those in Christ, the song that will be sung and the promises put forth are those which we too can apply in and over our lives. The song being sung details a city with the salvation of God for walls, and instead of closed gates in fear of attack, the gates are open to those who have received Christ and have been given the righteousness of God in Christ. Open the gates to all who are righteous allow the faithful to enter. Isaiah 26:1-2, Our city is strong! We are surrounded by the walls of God’s salvation. The song is sung by those who are living under the rule and authority of Jesus and understand the assurance of salvation. So, the context is the future fulfillment of Christ’s return, when He will rule and reign on earth and there will be perfectly administrated righteousness, and true peace on earth.Ĭhapter 26 is noted as a song that is going to be sung in those days. The prophets in the Old Testament would often write about events going on around them, and then point to future fulfillments to a greater extent. These chapters in Isaiah are known by scholars as “Isaiah’s Little Apocalypse.” It is where Isaiah wrote about the future kingdom age after the rapture, and the 7-year tribulation when Jesus comes to rule and reign in Jerusalem. In Isaiah chapters 24 to 27 we are given prophetic insights into a future time. Verses 3 and 4 of Isaiah, like all of Scripture, come with a context. Therefore, in the battle for our minds, Satan interferes with our trust in God and the perfect peace He has for those who trust in Him.īut when you put your mind to God, you prove that you trust in Him. He schemes to keep our minds focused on earthly things (worries and anxieties). Moreover, distraction is one of Satan’s strategies. Because a steadfast mind is a foundation for peace. Our minds are constantly at work thinking about (figuring out) futuristic things like the next step to take.īut your trust in God is what will enable you to have a firm and unwavering mind. Remember, it is difficult to keep your mind steady on God in the world we currently live in. A mind that doesn’t waver irrespective of the prevailing circumstances. For a steadfast mind is a firm and steady mind. Therefore, trusting in God leads to a steadfast mind, which further leads to perfect peace.Ĭonsequently, if you trust in God ( Psalm 28:7 and 22:5), your mind will be faithful ( Colossians 3:2 and Deuteronomy 11:18) to Him, and He will maintain you in perfect (complete) peace.
